| Picture postcard showing the top of Tagami Pass area on the Mogi Road around 1915. Tagami was located about 4km from the Nagasaki Prefecture Office. Some 20 to 30 families lived here and ran about 10 teahouses famous for buckwheat noodles and bamboo shoots. Travelers to Mogi rested at Tagami and fixed their traveling outfits here. Landmarks such as Tagamidera, Kan'nonji, and Chitose-tei still exist today. This photograph depicts how people traveled on rickshaws at the time. |
