Shoyoen Garden is located on the south side of the main hall at Manganji Temple. It was destroyed by fire in 1871 during the Boshin War. Modeled after Omi-Hakkei, the Chisenkaiyu-style garden remains to this day as a representative garden of the Edo Period. The Manganji main hall was formerly located between present-day Hobutsu-den and Shiunkaku of Rinoji Temple.
