| Horikiri Iris Garden is a general name for a number of gardens such as Kotaka-en, Musashi-en, Yoshino-en, and Horikiri-en. This photograph shows Kotaka-en, which was established by a farmer named Kotaka Isaemon who grew irises here for the first time. Designated as a place of scenic beauty by the government in 1933, Kotaka-en is protected under national laws for Preservation of Historic Sites and Places of Natural Beauty. |
