| Picture postcard showing Mogi Pier at the beginning of the Taisho Period. The former prefectural highway opened from Nagasaki to Mogi in 1885, and the Mogi Hotel opened in 1906. The Nagasaki Shosen ferry started service between Mogi and Obama in 1914 for people visiting the Unzen area. The boat in the photograph is the ferry. |
