| Picture postcard of Nagasaki Post Office around 1912. The post office moved from Motodaiku-machi to the Umegasaki location shown in this photograph in 1875. It was a prime location right next to the foreign settlement. The Japanese post office joined the Universal Postal Union (UPU) in 1877, linking Japan with 25 countries at discounted rates. In 1902, it also joined the UPU Parcel Post Treaty. |
